About us

A lodging that connects Niseko's nature to the future

About Us
Country Inn Milky House is a family-run pension founded in 1980.
For over 40 years, we have welcomed guests from Japan and abroad with hospitality that makes the most of Niseko's nature and the region's bounty.
The hotel serves slow food dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers, its own vegetable garden, and direct sales outlets, and is registered with the Hokkaido Prefectural Government as a "Northern Blessings Loved Food Restaurant." In 2022, the lobby and cafe bar will be renovated to provide an even more comfortable and memorable stay.

Taking on the challenge of creating a sustainable inn
I am the second-generation owner, having inherited this inn from the founder. When I spent time in Europe as a young person, I witnessed the deterioration of nature in various places and the people who were working hard to protect it. From that experience, I strongly felt that rather than waiting for government action, I needed to take action through my own inn.
We are currently working towards becoming a zero-emission accommodation facility, aiming to obtain GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) certification. We hope to reduce our environmental impact, have a positive impact on the local community and industry, and encourage behavioral change in each individual, so that our grandchildren can continue to enjoy Niseko's powder snow.

Our vision
Travel is not just about "staying overnight," but also an opportunity to experience nature and culture and pass it on to the next generation.
We will share the charm of Hokkaido with our guests through skiing, hot springs, farm experiences and local cuisine, and provide a sustainable stay that will connect to the future.
